Opportunities for Classicists

Here are some opportunities Classics Majors should be aware of:

Concentrations
Business Foundations Program
A set of six business courses to supplement any academic major.  May be done over the course of several semesters or in an intensive summer program.

Elements of Computing
Four courses in Computer Science to supplement any academic major.

Special Courses
Junior Fellows
A society of juniors and seniors from the University at large who are engaged in independent research projects under the direction of members of the faculty. Fellows attend meetings of the group, held every other week in both the fall and spring semesters. Besides project presentations, meetings feature discussions led by eminent scholars from on and off campus. Fellows have the opportunity to participate in field trips, seminars, and other academic activities.

Pre-Graduate School Internship
This course gives undergraduates the chance to work closely with a graduate student mentor to see what graduate school is like.

Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship

Get three hours of undergraduate credit working with a faculty member or her/his research.  This link is for faculty but will tell you some about the program.  Consult the undergraduate advisor if you might be interested in one of these apprenticeships.
