the importance of being earnest

Definitely one of the funniest plays I've seen; perhaps even the funniest. Written in 1896 by the now-famous Irish (not British) humorist and playwright Oscar Wilde, it's filled with witty repartee and his trademark epigrams.

Questions about the play, its characters, and its relationship to the surrounding society.

Links to material on the play. Also a few online texts of the play itself.

A random quote from the play. (You can also see the full list of quotes.)
