Interpretation of Archaeological Contexts.

My research involves both stylistic analysis of specific objects and interpretation of their find contexts. In most cases, these are tombs; however, a considerable amoung of material to be studied is in museums, and the find contexts are unknown or conjectured.

Current anthropological and archaeological discussion about the interpretation of find contexts is heated; my reading in this area will concentrate primarily on mortuary analyses. What little is known of early Celtic settlement archaeology will also be incorporated. Unfortunately, the excavation and interpretation of settlement features lags far behind that of cemeteries and tumuli.
